Zero data. Zero tracking. Zero servers.

Summary

TrueRTL does NOT collect, store, transmit, or sell any user data. We don't operate any servers. We use no analytics. We don't ask you to sign in.

How TrueRTL works

• The extension reads page DOM locally inside your browser only to detect Arabic characters.
• When Arabic is found, it applies dir="rtl" and direction: rtl on the containing block element via CSS — locally, without any network call.
• Editable inputs (textarea / contenteditable) get dir="auto" so typing follows the natural direction of what you write.
• Page content never leaves your browser.

Data stored locally on your device

The extension uses Chrome storage (chrome.storage.sync) to save:

• The list of websites you have enabled/disabled the extension on.
• Your operating mode (Hybrid / All sites / Whitelist / Blacklist).
• Per-site manual overrides.
• The master on/off switch.

If you have Chrome Sync enabled with your Google account, these preferences may sync across your own devices via your account — this is a built-in browser feature; we never access it. You can clear it anytime via: Chrome Settings → Extensions → TrueRTL → Clear site data.

What we don't use

• Any analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, etc.).
• Cookies or third-party scripts.
• User accounts or authentication.
• Advertising networks.
• Any servers (we don't operate any).
• Selling or sharing data with any third party.
• Any remotely loaded code.

Required permissions

• storage: To save your preferences (site list, mode, overrides) locally.
• activeTab: So the popup can read the current tab's hostname when you click the toolbar icon.
• scripting: To let the popup message the content script for instant re-evaluation after toggling, without forcing a page reload.
• host_permissions (<all_urls>): To run on any site you choose to enable in the options or popup. The extension only acts on sites you explicitly allow.

Any changes will be published on this page with the updated date. Substantive changes will be noted on the extension's Chrome Web Store page.
